WiFiUNIA is the alternative WiFi connection identifier for users who do not have access to eduroam.
It allows browsing on http (80/tcp), https (443/tcp), http-alt (80/tcp), and https-alt (8443/tcp). Access is through a Captive Portal and requires credentials. It is a technical requirement to have a wireless network access device (802.11a/b/g) for its use.
For any issues with access to WiFiUNIA, you can contact the Ticket System Service (SACU).
In the list of available wireless networks within range, you will see the WiFiUNIA network, indicating its unsecured wireless nature, in a manner similar to the following figure.
After clicking on the 'Connect' button, Windows will prompt us to confirm our desire to connect to this network, a warning generated by its non-encrypted nature, showing a window similar to the one below, where we will click on 'Connect Anyway'.
Once accepted, the system will report that it has successfully connected to the WiFiUNIA network.
Now, we should open a web browser (in this case, Mozilla Firefox). When attempting an HTTP connection (the first connection should not be HTTPS) to the network, the browser will indicate that the certificate is issued by an unknown authority. We will select the option 'Accept this certificate temporarily for this session' and click 'Accept,' as shown in the image.
After this message, the browser will request our confirmation again, displaying the window in the image, where we will click on 'Accept'.
After accepting the security certificate, the captive portal of the Universidad Internacional de AndalucĂa will be displayed, requesting an authorized username and password. Once validated, the captive portal will automatically redirect us to the page we initially entered.
